Núria Picas is an athlete who was born in Manresa, and from a very young age her life has been linked to the nature and the sport. She was born and grew up in the Montserrat massif and, from here, she has always been in contact with the mountains.
Núria is a lover of climbing and mountaineering, but it was not until the age of 22 that she began to combine climbing with trail races and ran her first marathon. But a few weeks later, she suffered a serious accident climbing in Montserrat. The doctors told her she could not run again but it was at this moment that she felt stronger: she prepared for being a firefighter and gradually began to run again.
The first ultra trail in which she participated, was the Cavalls del Vent in 2011. And she won it. Since then, she has won titles in all major races and now she is a ultratrail world champion (2012), Ultra Trail World Tour champion (2014) and also she achieved her dream: winning the Ultra Trail of Mont-Blanc (2017).
