Jaume Leiva will run the Salomon Run 2018
“The Salomon Run is a completely different test than what I’m used to running: always with very regular rhythms, maximum concentration with little margin of error … I will come to enjoy with the rest of the participants, without the pressure of having to be in front and with the idea of breaking with the monotony of other road competitions”. It’s Jaume Leiva. The Suunto athlete, will be next April 29th at the Salomon Run. In a season that is being very intense, the Terrassa runner will live his first participation in this 10km race as a real gift: “The atmosphere I’ve seen in other editions seems spectacular. More than a challenge is a gift that I make to me in a season that is very long and demanding. I will have run the Milan Marathon three weeks before so the goal will be to have fun. Fighting for a good position will be secondary.” Leiva, in fact, will also compete on March 24 at the Valencia Half Marathon World Championship, which will come after a few good weeks of training, at a high pace and feeling strong.
“I am excited to run in Barcelona and more in Montjuïc. Few athletic events pass through the most emblematic corners of the magic mountain. We will also enjoy the city from one of its highest points,” explains the Suunto athlete. It will be the first time for Leiva in a circuit and a scenario that the runner Jes Bonet knows perfectly. Winner of the last three editions of the Salomon Run in the women’s category, Bonet will return one more year to a race that she loves: “I really like running in the Montjuïc area, leaving the classic Barcelona circuit. For me, undoubtedly, the best of the test is the technical combination of stairs, climbs and descents plus the possibility of entering the Poble Espanyol and the Olympic Stadium, which make it very attractive”.
The Salomon Run is a 10km test with its own personality, with a circuit full of surprises: stairs, changes of terrain and views of Barcelona. The participants start next to the Font Màgica de Montjuïc and face a demanding but fun start with a good amount of steps. “I try not to start very fast because you can pay it and, after the first kilometers that are full of stairs, I try to maintain a constant rhythm and catch my breath when there are downhills”says Bonet.
There are already 1,000 people registered for a test that will return on April 29 to Barcelona and has already established itself as one of the most different and fun 10km events of the season. The stairs and the combination of ups and downs, make special and demanding a circuit of the Salomon Run that is suitable for any runner wanting to enjoy Montjuïc, Barcelona and a unique atmosphere. “For those who run for the first time, I would tell them to enjoy the test. You go through some of the most beautiful places in the city with spectacular views”, advises Bonet.
Thus, the Salomon Run will return on April 29 to Barcelona with a journey full of adventure and designed for maximum fun. The inscriptions continue open in www.salomonrunbarcelona.com. The event maintains the price of € 16 and includes official test shirt, chip timing and a healthy and abundant supplies at the end of 10km. In addition, the morning will be completed with the Salomon Run Vertical: a 54-meter sprint with more than 50 steps that will bring together 32 men and 16 women. Participants will be selected by invitation based on their previous results and, also, by lottery by submitting an application in the web form.
